Painting of the Week

by Frances - 10:28 on 25 January 2019

The difficulty when painting Highland Cattle is to capture the individual characters when their eyes are hardly visible below a very long and thick forelock.  The cattle, sheep and goats in my paintings are portrayed very naturally - mid chew!

I think the acrylic paint on linen works well to give a harmonious and country feel.  At approx 20 cm square x 3.5 cm deep this small gem of a painting does not need to be framed or take up much room, will fit between beams or may be hung as part of a group.

A great character to share your home.
